David and I welcome you to our home and my art studio overlooking the tiny seaside town of Collingwood in stunning Golden Bay at the top of the South Island, New Zealand. Nestled on the hill, amongst native bush and with views over the Collingwood estuary and mountains, the property is the ideal venue for inspiration, creativity and artistic development.

We will paint in a fully equipped and light-filled studio. Delicious, fresh and healthy home cooked meals will be served either in the outdoor covered terrace, or inside our home. The half acre section of native bush is crisscrossed with bush paths; hammocks, bean bags and benches offer secret hideaways for those moments of relaxing contemplation.

I offer the following workshop options:

Weekly Painting Sessions
6 weekly blocks of 3 hour painting sessions per week. Structured Beginner’s class, or bring your own work intermediate/advanced class. Starting Term 1, 2020.

1 Day Painting Workshops
10am - 4pm including - lunch, morning and afternoon teas, art equipment and some art materials.

Creative Weekend Workshops
Would you like to ESCAPE . . . your creative rut, have fun with like-minded painters and get away from everyday life for a couple of days . . . then my creative weekend workshops are just what you need. The weekend starts at 10am on a Saturday and finishes at 5pm on Sunday and includes:
• a 2 day themed workshop
• all art equipment - some art materials included (participants to bring their own favourite brushes/painting tools)
• healthy and delicious food - 2 lunches, 1 dinner, morning and afternoon teas and selected drinks
• an extensive library of art books to peruse
• access to my private online Facebook community to connect with other workshop participants

8 day, 7 night Painting Intensives
Would you like to EXTEND . . . your creative knowledge and your painting skills? Then my painting intensives are perfect for you! My intensive workshops run from Sunday to Sunday and include:
• 5 days of art tuition either by myself or a guest tutor
• all art equipment and some art materials (participants to bring their own favourite brushes/painting tools)
• healthy and delicious food - 5 lunches, 5 dinners, morning and afternoon teas and selected drinks
• movie night - art related of course!
• a 1 day tour of local art galleries and studios
• 1 free day to explore this beautiful region
• an extensive library of art books to peruse
• access to my private online Facebook community to connect with other workshop participants

Collingwood town is just a short stroll down the hill and offers a variety of accommodation options for you to choose from, including a budget friendly campground right on the edge of the estuary, character filled BnBs, comfortable motels and luxury accommodation. Nelson Airport pick ups available by arrangement.

Collingwood is an ecotourism destination due to its proximity to the stunning Kahurangi National Park and the Farewell Spit Nature Reserve. There is a variety of activities for non painting partners including tramping, fishing, beach walking, bird watching, kayaking and mountain biking. Non painting partners are very welcome to join the group for dinners.
